Thursday Coed Volleyball Winter 2024

For more info about the league contact Eric Earley or Wes Kilian.

Congrats to Team Woolley (5D) and Team Irvine (Volley Llamas) for the first place tie after 45 sets (Team Woolley gets the trophy based on a 5-4 record head-to-head and more points scored). Congrats to all six teams for so many close matches, many settled by just two points and some of those well into extra points.

We capped off the regular season with four weeks of extended play (random teams), and after April 25, 15 of the 21 post-season players were able to post-game at our usual watering hole (Old Burdick's) where we were rewarded with a Field Trip down on the ice at Wings West.

For those who don't like late start times, back when the coed power league finally found a home with two courts, the schedule for ten teams lasted until 10 pm and six of the teams played double-headers. https://vball.nbjansen.com/thursday2013.html

And for many years before that, with a gym that only had one court (St. A's downtown) here's a schedule for the Power League in 1991 when we also had ten teams. Not only did the late game start at 10 pm, but over half the time one of us had to officiate the game after or before us (not as much fun when we played at nine and someone had to stay an extra hour)..

Who recognizes #6 after she and teammate just blocked an attack at Milan High School? (although she was even more famous for her softball accolades)
